Guest Biography
John Corcoran is a public speaker and the author of two books, The Teacher Who Couldn't Read and Bridge to Literacy. He is also founder and president of the John Corcoran Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to the eradication and prevention of adult illiteracy. Corcoran has served on numerous commissions and boards, including the board of the National Institute of Literacy — a position he was appointed to by President George H.W. Bush. John's wife, Kathy, has worked as a nurse in elementary and secondary schools since 1965. The couple has been married for more than 40 years and resides in California. They have two adult children and five grandchildren.
