Abby Johnson started volunteering for Planned Parenthood as a college sophomore. Eventually, she was hired by the organization and worked her way up to the position of a clinic director in Texas. Abby made national headlines when she left the organization in October, 2009, after witnessing a doctor use ultrasound equipment to perform an abortion. She and her husband, Doug, have one young child.

Shawn Carney is the co-founder of 40 Days for Life and the executive director of Coalition for Life. He is also a public speaker, a media spokesperson for pro-life issues, and the executive producer and host of the pro-life TV series Being HUMAN. Shawn and his wife, Marilisa, reside in Texas and have three children.
