Dr. Walt and Barb Larimore and their grown children discuss an incident in which the children, as youngsters, were sexually abused by a babysitter. Our guests explain how they found healing and learned about forgiveness. (Part 1 of 2)

 

Guest Biography

Dr. Walt LarimoreDr. Walt Larimore is a full-time author, medical journalist and medical educator. He also teaches part-time, holding adjunct clinical academic appointments in family medicine at the In His Image Family Medicine Residency Program in Tulsa, Okla. Formerly, Dr. Larimore served as Focus on the Family's Vice President of Medical Outreach and Focus' Physician in Residence. He and his wife, Barbara, have two grown children and two grandchildren.

Barbara LarimoreBorn and raised in Baton Rouge, La., Barbara Larimore met her husband, Walt, while they were attending a Methodist church kindergarten. An educator by training, she taught middle schoolers while Walt was completing his medical training. Barbara then concentrated on raising their children, Kate and Scott. Today, she enjoys discipling young women and mentoring young married couples. Barbara also travels often and speaks to audiences along with Walt.

Scott Larimore is currently enjoying being a stay-at-home dad. He holds a B.S. in Political Science and English Communication from Samford University and is a graduate of the Focus on the Family Institute (now the Focus Leadership Institute). He and his wife, Jennifer, have two children and reside in Atlanta, Ga.

Kate Larimore currently works at the Focus on the Family on-campus bookstore. She holds a B.A. in English from Samford University and interned at the White House in President George W. Bush's speechwriting office. Kate loves world travel, reading, writing and watching movies.
